The High Desert Health Summit is coming to Apple Valley, according to a news release.
The town’s conference center will play host to the conference from 8:30 a.m. to noon April 11. The event is sponsored by Healthy High Desert, a collaborative organized to improve the health of High Desert residents.
Dr. Maxwell Ohikhaure, San Bernardino County Public Health Officer, is scheduled to deliver the welcoming address at the annual conference, according to the release.
In addition, Mark Hoffman, associate principal for the Inland Empire chapter of the Planning Center, is scheduled to present a recently completed policy brief on the High Desert’s health status, “Pioneering a New Frontier for Healthy Communities.”
Other presentations will include:
• San Bernardino County Health Status Profile;
• San Bernardino County Vision for Health;
• Healthy High Desert Communities Updates covering; Adelanto, Apple Valley, Hesperia and Victorville;
• Where We Go From Here.
Healthy High Desert is a regional partnership between San Bernardino County, cities and towns, schools, health care organizations and residents to promote health and wellness for those who live, work, and play in the High Desert, according to its website at www.HealthyHighDesert.com.
Registration for the event is open until 5 p.m. April 3. Seating is free but limited to a first come, first serve basis.
The Town’s conference center is at 14975 Dale Evans Parkway.
