From Staff Reports
Three mobile blood drives are planned for Apple Valley this week and those who donate are in for some free goodies.
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, the LifeStream mobile blood van will be at Town Hall for the first blood drive. Donors will receive, while supplies last, a $10 Target gift card.
Town Hall is at 14955 Dale Evans Parkway.
From 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, LifeStream will be at Vanguard Preparatory School. Donors at that event will receive coupons for two free tacos and a free milkshake courtesy of Jack in the Box, while supplies last.
Vanguard is at 12951 Mesquite Road.
The third event is planned for noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Digiplex, 22311 Bear Valley Road.
Donors at all three drive events will receive a free cholesterol screening and Gift of Life Donor Loyalty points that donors can redeem for complimentary items.
In addition, donors aged 18 to 44 years old may register for Be The Match bone marrow screening free of charge.
Healthy individuals at least 15 years of age may donate blood. Those who are 15 and 16 years of age must provide LifeStream with written parental consent. Prospective donors should be free of infections or illness, weigh at least 110 pounds, and not be at risk for AIDS or hepatitis. Donors receive a free mini-physical as part of the donation process.
