2016 concert series officially underway, continues July 7

Locally grown and internationally known, Phat Cat Swinger kicked off the 2016 Heritage Victor Valley Medical Group Sunset Concert Series on Thursday evening.

The series is celebrating its 10th year with several more concerts planned this summer at Civic Center Amphitheater.

The series will take a break this week in lieu of Monday's Freedom Festival at Lenny Brewster Sports Center, but will continue with feature local acts such as Stone Soul (July 7), The Silverados (July 14), Ronny & The Classics (July 21), Phoenix Rising (July 28), Neon Nation (Aug. 4) and Southern Spirit (Aug. 11).

Concerts are scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. at 14955 Dale Evans Parkway. The series also features food vendors, a beer garden and dancing. Concert goers should bring blankets or portable chairs. Pets are not allowed in the concert venue and smoking is prohibited in all town parks. Parking and admission are free.
